What Version to Choose?

It's likely that each Chrome version will have a unique fingerprint, so using different versions for your automation tasks could be advantageous.
Your automation library should be compatible with the specific Chrome version you're using. That said, many commonly used CDP methods have remained stable for a while. This means that, for example, prehistoric Puppeteer version 13 (designed for Chrome v100) might work just fine with Chrome v127.
However, we strongly recommend using the latest versions of Puppeteer or Playwright. These libraries are constantly evolving, with bug fixes and new helpful features being released regularly.
